Have a good Tuesday. Be Yourself. Be Creative. and Be Fully Present!!!
So today I am getting to do one of the things on my Artistic Bucket List! I am designing a project that I hopefully will teach to say 10 or so other Artsy, Inky, women during an upcoming class that they have actually paid money to come to in order to make this project.
One wonders if these women have met me?????? I think not!!!
By the time I am done designing this project – I may need my happy pills that I usually use when I fly – the ones that make me eat peanuts really slowly on the death machine!!! (allegedly – the two co-travelers who tell the story can not always be trusted when it comes to my flying adventures) !!!!
This designing stuff looks easy until you begin and then you second and third guess everything you do and you pull out everything in your studio that may/may not look good, work good, attach good or paint good for the project…… Then after spending like 3 hours on it you decide it is dust bin material and start again!!! I end up with a pop tart in one hand and a diet coke in the other and my glasses on my head and if you listen you can hear me whispering…..”it looked great in my head, what could have gone wrong”. ….You get the idea.
It can not go without being said (or typed) that my respect for one of my favorite local project designers/teachers, Michele Hamilton has just gone way, way, way up! I’m talkin – King Kong on the Empire State Building up! I’m talkin – my numbers on the scale after eating about 12 Peeps Marshmallow things from the Easter candy isle up!!!
I will let you know how it works out. Say a prayer for me, or face East, or cross yourself or Talk to Buddah or whatever you do to send some positive, creative, energy to an InkyMee.
And remember that while getting to do what we say we have always wanted to do — it is important to ENJOY the craziness and process. Thats where my creative journey takes me today. Where will yours take you??
Time to go Cheerfully Create some Imperfect Art!!
I know , I know –But what was I supposed to do — There were gears, there were clock parts and there were bobbins and a plain jain owl that needed to be mixed media metalitized!!
Okay, I may have a problem — maybe there is an 800 number I can call or a support group I could join.
The journey continues…. wanna come?
So remember when I showed you these:
A guy let me get them out of his recycle bin and I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them. I put a few into one of my Gear Goddess collage pieces a few months ago but I decided it was time to stick a rusty finger in the wall socket and let it rip:
I haven’t decided yet if I love her – but I am kind of diggin the hair.
Have a good day and remember…….. MAKE SOME ART!!! Just like the hair experiment – Art doesn’t have to be perfect to bring you pleasure.
